On this week’s premiere broadcast of Mountain Stage, host Kathy Mattea welcomes Paul Thorn Band, Ray Benson, Sunny Sweeney, and Andy Friedman to the Culture Center Theater in Charleston, WV.
Our Song of the Week comes from Ray Benson. During his tenth visit to the show, he performed “Faded Love,” a Bob Wills tune often covered by Benson’s longtime band, Asleep at the Wheel, who have been creating music together for over 50 years.
On this episode, you’ll also hear live performances by the poignant singer-songwriter Paul Thorn Band, country artist Sunny Sweeney, and Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter and visual artist Andy Friedman.
