On this week’s premiere broadcast of Mountain Stage, guest host David Mayfield welcomes Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel, John Pizzarelli, Peter Case, Mollie O’Brien & Rich Moore, and Jedd Hughes.
Our Song of the Week comes from acclaimed singer, songwriter, and guitarist Duane Betts and his band The Palmetto Motel. Betts performed a live rendition of “Heartache,” a new single from his 2026 album Isle of Hope, reflecting the grief and loss he felt after the passing of his father, beloved singer and guitarist Dickey Betts.
Tune in to one of our affiliate stations starting Friday, May 8 to hear Duane Betts’ full set, plus more live performances by jazz guitarist and singer John Pizzarelli, singer-songwriter Peter Case, bluegrass and folk duo Mollie O’Brien & Rich Moore, and guitarist Jedd Hughes.
