Lindsey Goodman may be one of the hardest working flutists in the business –– recently performing symphonies, concerti, and masterclasses in and around the Mountain State. And somehow, she even had time to record and release a new album –– Transporting Bright: New Music for Flute. Goodman’s latest album features several living composers and was released by Navona Records as part of PARMA Recordings.

All of the album tracks are world premiere recordings featuring Goodman by herself, with electronic accompaniment, with her collaborative pianist Robert Frankenberry (as part of the Chrysalis Duo), or with 3 other flutists, including Kimberlee Goodman, Lisa Jelle, and Alison Brown Sincoff (as part of PANdemonium4). This album features pieces that range from the lush and beautiful, to cutting edge, to fun and lively. Goodman’s ambitious undertaking highlights fresh music for the flute with dazzling performances from the first note to the last measure.

Goodman recently joined Classical Music host Matt Jackfert to talk about the new release and highlight tracks from the album.
