New Round Of ‘No Kings’ Protests Planned For Saturday

This is the second day of "No Kings" protests after thousands of West Virginians took to the streets June 14.

At least 20 protests are planned for Saturday, Oct. 18, across West Virginia.

The demonstrations are part of the larger “No Kings Day” national movement, named in response to what organizers call authoritarian overreach by President Donald Trump’s administration. 

The movement has been led by a coalition of more than 100 organizations, including the American Federation of Teachers, the ACLU and the Human Rights Campaign.

The organization’s website and listings on Facebook show the following locations as holding events or rallies Oct. 18:

  • Ohio Valley: 11:30 a.m., National Road and Kruger Street Wheeling, WV 26003
  • New Martinsville: 10:30 a.m., 191 N State Rt. 2 New Martinsville, WV 26155
  • Morgantown: 3 p.m., 400 Spruce Street, Morgantown 
  • Fairmont: 1 p.m. Gateway Connector Park Fairmont, WV 26554
  • Clarksburg: 12 p.m., Harrison County Courthouse
  • Buckhannon: 12 p.m., 88 S. Kanawha Street, Chapel Hill (church not affiliated) Buckhannon, WV 26201
