Google has created a website to provide information on the company’s plans to develop a data center near the Putnam County town of Buffalo.

The site indicates that the company plans to work with the state Historic Preservation office to support the “unique and historic past” of the community.

Google also plans to partner with local workforce and education organizations to help expand training opportunities.

The company announced in March that it had purchased 1,700 acres on both sides of Route 62 to build the data center campus. Plans include generating 100% of the electricity needed and treating 120% of the water needed.

Despite the proposed multi-billion-dollar investment, some residents are concerned about environmental impacts on the local area.
