Every voter, whether they admit it or not, wants an “I Voted” sticker after completing their civic duty. This year, the West Virginia Secretary of State is holding a contest to pick a new, West Virginia-specific design.
The “I Voted!” Sticker Contest for 2026 is West Virginia’s first-ever statewide competition to design artwork for the stickers.
The contest was limited to eighth grade students in public and private schools as well as those eighth graders who are homeschooled.
More than 1,100 students from 42 counties submitted artwork to their county clerks. First place winners were selected at the county level. Then the artwork from those first place winners was submitted to a regional competition and four finalists were chosen.
The public is now invited to vote on the four finalists.
Voting will end at 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 27. The winner will be announced on March 11 during National Civic Learning Week being celebrated at the State Capitol.
