Continue Reading Take Me to More NewsGov. Earl Ray Tomblin has announced $12 million in federal grants for 12 water and sewer projects, including $1.3 million to help replace a sewer system in McDowell County that allows raw discharges into the Clear Fork River.
Others include $1.5 million for Cairo’s repair of its sewage treatment plant, $1.5 million for Chapmanville’s improvement of its water system and $1.5 million for Clay’s construction of nearly 4.5 miles of new water lines.
The Greenbrier County Commission will get $1.3 million toward a $10 million project to extend water service to 405 households.
Other grants are $1.26 million for the Marion County Commission for a sewage system transfer, $1.5 million for a Mingo County water extension project and $1.3 million for Richwood to upgrade water service to 1,200 households.
