Parents who receive child support can now file service applications, track payments and seek online support through a streamlined state website.
The West Virginia Department of Human Services (DoHS) is working to make child support services more digitally accessible with a newly renovated website.
The state’s Bureau for Child Support Enforcement (BCSE) is tasked with verifying paternity, enforcing spousal and child support orders and reviewing modifications to the terms of support orders.
Now, the bureau’s resources and requirements are consolidated into a single website to facilitate its user experience.
“The new BCSE website is a key milestone in our broader effort to modernize government services through technology,” said DoHS Cabinet Secretary Alex Mayer in a Friday press release. “By removing barriers and expanding access to child support services online, we’re helping families stay connected to the resources they need to thrive.”
“Child support is more than just a financial obligation, it’s a vital service that helps families achieve greater stability and self-sufficiency,” said BCSE Commissioner Garrett Jacobs.
