Our premiere spring broadcast season continues as host Kathy Mattea welcomes Patrick Watson, John Gorka, Anna Tivel, Shelby Means, and Liza Lo on this week’s episode of Mountain Stage.
Our Song of the Week comes from Portland, OR-based indie-folk artist Anna Tivel. During her visit to Mountain Stage, Anna performed “Animal Poem,” a poetic song that highlights modern-day injustices that have become the norm. This is the title track of her August 2025 release on Fluff & Gravy Records, which was “recorded live in a circle with some of my dearest friends,” Tivel says, “Animal Poem was made in conversation.”
Tune in to an affiliate station near you starting Friday, April 24 to hear Anna’s full set, plus more live performances from ethereal Canadian singer-songwriter Patrick Watson, singer-songwriter extraordinaire John Gorka, Grammy-winning bluegrass bassist Shelby Means, and London-based producer and songwriter Liza Lo.
