Host Kathy Mattea welcomes Stephen Kellogg, Emily Scott Robinson, Joe Troop & The Truth Machine, Kindred Valley, and Corduroy Brown to the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center in Huntington, WV on this week’s premiere broadcast of Mountain Stage.
Thank you to Marshall Artists Series for including us in their 89th season.
On this episode, you’ll hear world-class storytelling, songs that will make you laugh and cry, and soulful melodies from our friend Stephen Kellogg. This show nearly rounded out his 3,000th concert during his “Road to 3,000” Tour, celebrating his three-decade career.
Our Song of the Week is Kellogg’s live performance of “Harbor,” which was released as a single in November 2023, and then included in his 2025 album “To you, old friend.”
Tune in to one of these affiliate stations starting Friday, April 3 to hear Kellogg’s full set, plus more live performances by country-folk singer-songwriter Emily Scott Robinson, self-described “artivist” Joe Troop and his band The Truth Machine, indie-folk group Kindred Valley, and feel-good Appalachian rocker Corduroy Brown — both hailing from West Virginia.
Check out our live show schedule and be a part of our audience when we record our next episode for NPR Music, and don’t forget you can sign up for our E-newsletter for monthly updates, new podcasts, and more.
