Starting in May, the West Virginia Department of Human Services will tour the state to foster dialogue with key stakeholders in the child welfare system.
Stakeholder sessions for service providers, foster parents, legislators, and other individuals deeply involved with the child welfare system will be held in person at multiple locations including Charleston, Huntington, Parkersburg, Wheeling, Morgantown, Martinsburg, Clarksburg, Elkins and Beckley.
Targeted focus groups will also be held both virtually and in-person.
According to a department press release, the public feedback will be compiled into a comprehensive report. They also plan to form an Advisory Committee to help implement changes outlined in the report.
