Our Song of the Week comes from singer, songwriter, poet, and Grammy winner Carrie Newcomer. She performs “Take More Time, Cover Less Ground” from her 2023 album, A Great Wild Mercy. In the liner note for this song, Carrie states that her inspiration came from a quote from the contemplative Trappist monk, Thomas Merton, who lived in Kentucky. “We live busy lives,” Newcomer said introducing the song, “This song is really about loving all the motion of my life, and at the same time really loving when I take a little more time and cover a little less ground.”
