Starting in 2026 the state of West Virginia is expected to get $100 million a year for five years from something called the Rural Transformation Fund. It’s designed to help offset Medicaid cuts. Maria Young talks with Rich Sutphin, executive director of the West Virginia Rural Health Association, to find out how that fund can help and if it’s enough to prevent hospital closures.
