A Gilbert County man has been appointed to replace retiring Mingo County Magistrate Deloris “Dee” Sidebottom.
The West Virginia Supreme Court says Sidebottom’s retirement is effective Oct. 31.
Mingo County Circuit Court Judge Miki J. Thompson appointed Brock Mounts on Friday to replace Sidebottom. He will serve the remainder of Sidebottom’s term, which ends on Dec. 31, 2016.
Mounts currently is a legal assistant at a private law firm in Gilbert.
Roughly 350 children in state foster care are currently placed across 20 states to receive treatment not available in West Virginia.
