Associated Press PublishedCamden Clark Medical Center plans to expand its South Tower by more than 100,000 square feet.
The Parkersburg News & Sentinel reports that the city’s downtown business and facade committee recently approved the hospital’s plan to add a wing to the tower. The wing will house a new emergency department and a 30-bed private room inpatient unit.
Construction is expected to begin in the spring.
A new fund will help states absorb the cost of federal Medicaid cuts, particularly for rural communities where health experts say they hope to prevent hospital closures.
