Collections in the state’s General Revenue Fund totaled $671 million for the month of April. That is $70 million more than estimated, according to Gov. Patrick Morrisey’s office.
The figures also surpassed collections in April 2025 by more than $27 million, bringing the total year-to-date funds to $269 million over estimates.
Morrisey said the surplus is the result of a more disciplined approach to growing the economy and allows the state to fund its priorities while staying on solid financial footing.
Personal income tax, severance tax, corporate income tax, tobacco tax, insurance and interest income collections were all above estimates for the month as well. The only category that showed a loss was consumer sales tax collections.
