Public Hearings Set on Mountaineer Gas' Rate Hike Request

State regulators are holding public comment hearings on Mountaineer Gas Company’s proposed $12.2 million rate increase.

The Public Service Commission says the first two hearings were scheduled Monday in Huntington.

Two hearings will be held on Tuesday at the Beckley Convention Center, followed by two hearings on Wednesday at the Ohio County Courthouse in Wheeling. The final two hearings will be held July 14 at the PSC’s office in Charleston.

The hearings will begin at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The PSC also plans to holds evidentiary hearings on the proposed 4.7 percent rate increase on July 15-17 in Charleston.

Mountaineer serves about 221,000 customers.
