Black Prairie began as a bluegrass-influenced side project lead by 3 of the 5 members of indie rock band The Decemberists. 

They’ve since become a very successful group in their own right, releasing four acclaimed albums that blur artistic boundaries. Here they perform “The 84,” from this week’s broadcast of Mountain Stage with Larry Groce.
