Former West Virginia Delegate Mark Hunt is joining the 2016 race for attorney general.

Hunt announced his candidacy on Wednesday on his website.

The Kanawha County Democrat served in the House of Delegates for 14 years.

Hunt says he wants to make the attorney general’s office “a touch watchdog” for West Virginia citizens.

Republican Attorney General Patrick Morrisey said in June that he’ll seek a second term.
