Grants Awarded To Help Counties Prepare For New Business

W.Va. Task Forces Recognized For Drug Seizures, Prosecutions

Nine drug task forces in West Virginia have seized more than 60 kilos of illegal drugs in the state over the past year. Twenty-seven kilograms of fentanyl, 22 kilos of methamphetamine, and 13 kilograms of cocaine. All seized as a part of Operation Take Back America. Acting US Attorney Randolph Bernard for the Northern District of West Virginia recognized drug task forces in his region for seizing fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine in the past year, and for successfully prosecuting high level dealers.

Potential Lawsuit May Tie Up Sale Of Health Facilities

In his capacity as a private attorney, Sen. Joey Garcia, D-Marion, has given notice of his intention to sue Secretary Michael Caruso of the Department of Health Facilities and Gov. Patrick Morrisey on behalf of Mary DeVito, a resident of the John Manchin Sr. Health Care Center in Fairmont. The suit aims to stop the state from selling the center to Marx Development Group.
