On this West Virginia Morning, the Public Service Commission (PSC) of West Virginia is currently conducting public comment hearings concerning developer NextEra Energy’s application to construct a new 107.5-mile-long transmission line from Pennsylvania through West Virginia to Virginia. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, in Morgantown.

Known as the MidAtlantic Resiliency Link, the line would cross Monongalia, Preston, Mineral and Hampshire counties. Chris Schulz recently spoke with Kaitlin McCormick, senior director of project execution at NextEra, about the need driving the project.

Also, homeless advocates have released new figures that show a drop in the number of unhoused people in West Virginia.

And, the state is looking for information on technology to help monitor patients in rural settings.
