House, Senate Make Progress As Redistricting Efforts Continue in Special Session

Lawmakers working in special session this week in Charleston made progress Wednesday on federal and state redistricting efforts. Those include a new House map of 100 single-member districts and one in the Senate that divides the state into two Congressional districts — north and south.

Legislature Favoring a North-South Congressional Redraw As Redistricting Efforts Continue

Lawmakers are meeting in Charleston, West Virginia this week to work on redistricting. Gov. Jim Justice called a special session on Friday to take up congressional redistricting as well as a new map of 100 single-member districts across the state. State legislators are also expected to discuss appropriation of federal money and changes to the state's Intermediate Courts that were passed earlier this year during a regular session.
