Midterm elections are now less than a month away but there are several deadlines to consider before election day.
The first deadline looming is Tuesday, Oct. 13. That’s the final day for West Virginia residents to register to vote or update any voter registration information – like a change of address. Online and in-person applications must be submitted by this day, and mail-in applications must be post marked that day.
Here are other deadlines to keep in mind:
Absentee Ballots: May be requested in person or by mail until Oct. 28.
Emergency Absentee Voting: Ballots requests for voters who are in the hospital, in a licensed health care facility, or confined due to injury or illness may be submitted from Oct. 27 through Noon on Election Day.
Absentee Ballots Submitted: Ballots submitted electronically from qualified military and overseas voters as well as those with physical disabilities will be accepted through the close of polls on Election Day.
Mail-in Absentee Ballots: Ballots without postmarks will be accepted through Nov. 4. Those with postmarks will be accepted through Nov. 9.
