Listen

We explore a major broadband bill that passed the House of Delegates, and we have a discussion with two West Virginia lawmakers who are involved in broadband and technology expansion in the state.

Host Suzanne Higgins is joined by senior reporter Dave Mistich for an update in statehouse news.

House Bill 4015, a broadband enhancement bill, passed the House of Delegates Thursday. Reporter Emily Allen recently visited Calhoun County to learn how student achievement is impacted with and without broadband access.

Allen speaks with Del. Daniel Linville, R-Cabell County, Vice Chair of the House Technology and Infrastructure Committee, and Sen. Robert Plymale, D-Wayne, member of the Senate Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, about broadband expansion in West Virginia. Both are members of the West Virginia Broadband Enhancement Council.
