WVU Hosts Vigil for Vicitms of Pittsburgh Tree of Life Shooting

On this West Virginia Morning, hundreds of people gathered last night at a vigil held at West Virginia University to honor the victims of the shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. As Brittany Patterson reports, speakers at the event offered a message of both vigilance and healing to the Jewish community, both in Morgantown and around the world.

Also on today’s show, we head to Beckley, where Inside Appalachia producer Roxy Todd caught up with local historian Scott Worley, who told his favorite spooky story from Raleigh County.

And climate change may be the biggest challenge humanity has ever faced, but it hasn’t been at the forefront of the race for Pennsylvania governor this year.

Both Gov. Tom Wolf and his Republican challenger, Scott Wagner, acknowledge that climate change is occurring, but neither has made addressing it a top priority. StateImpact Pennsylvania’s Marie Cusick has the story.
