Matthew Alan Rohrbach is the Republican incumbent representing the West Virginia House of Delegates in District 26 in Cabell County. Rohrbach was born in Huntington. He attended Marshall University and Marshall University Medical School before completing an internship at the University of Tennessee, a residency at the University of Kentucky and a fellowship at East Tennessee State University.
Rohrbach is a physician and is an owner and partner of Huntington Internal Medicine Group. He has represented District 26 in the House and currently serves as speaker pro tempore and deputy speaker.
During his legislative career, Rohrbach has sponsored and supported legislation involving health care, insurance and taxes. During the 2025 session, bills associated with Rohrbach included insurance coverage legislation, sales tax exemptions for hygiene and infant products and penalties for child abuse.
Rohrbach won reelection in 2024 without opposition. In the 2026 Republican primary, he defeated Andrew Garrett Lowry, receiving about 61.8% of the vote. Rohrbach is the only candidate on the November general election ballot for District 26.
