Kim Hundley is a single mother who is a life long West Virginian. She was a high school dropout but earned her GED. She attended West Virginia State University earning a graduate and a bachelor’s degree. She is an educator and a working class advocate. As a breast cancer survivor she says she knows what it is like to struggle, work hard, and fight for your family. Her experiences serving as a public high school English teacher and being a single mother and breast cancer survivor built her foundation for the platform she is running on. Because of her fight against cancer, she is fighting for healthcare reform from the patient side not the political side. She is big in strong public school systems, and fair workers’ rights and wages that reflect the cost of living. She believes “education is opportunity ? and that every child, no matter their background, deserves a real chance.”
