Kerry Glen Murphy is the Republican candidate for West Virginia House of Delegates District 9. Murphy?s current career is a construction worker and volunteer fire chief. Not much is available regarding his personal life. Murphy does have a wife named Miranda Murphy. He won the Republican nomination in the May 12 primary however he will not face a Democratic opponent in the Nov. 3 general election as he is unopposed.
The main focuses of Murphy’s campaign are on improving infrastructure, creating WV career opportunities and expanding broadband access in rural West Virginia. One of the major factors regarding his infrastructure focus is specifically water infrastructure, pointing to communities with poor water quality or no water access at all. For bringing career opportunities to West Virginia, he wants to implement jobs that are meant to strengthen local economies. Another campaign focal point is creating a tax base that will support infrastructure projects.
