Danielle Marie Dougherty is the Democratic nominee for West Virginia House of Delegates District 66, which includes parts of Randolph and Pocahontas counties. She is a Beverly resident, and is challenging Republican incumbent Jonathan Kyle in the November 3, 2026, general election. Dougherty is a family nurse practitioner, Army veteran, and mother of two. She served four years in the U.S. Army and earned nursing degrees from West Virginia Wesleyan College. Raised in a working-class family in Randolph County, she later worked on the front lines of West Virginia?s substance-use crisis. She advanced from the uncontested Democratic primary with 930 votes. Her campaign emphasizes good paying local jobs, lower household costs and stronger public schools. She also supports affordable utilities, early-childhood development, teachers, state employees and policies intended to reduce generational poverty. Her campaign presents these priorities as ways to help families remain in rural West Virginia rather than leave to find economic opportunity.
