Christy Cardwell

She’s been a school teacher for 28 years. This is her second race for this position after losing in 2024. She seems to be running on a populist platform, with issues including broadband access, clean water, and affordable healthcare. She also has stated that public health and education are the issues she is most passionate about which makes sense with her background. She went to Marshall for broadcast journalism before transferring to WVU where she got her bachelors and masters in teaching. She was a substitute teacher and worked for the state tourism board while in grad school, and after grad school has worked for Wyoming county schools ever since, which is where she grew up (in Mullens). Her personal Facebook is hidden but from her Instagram she seems to be a parent.
