This is a special treat for you all. I recently was able to talk with composer John Mackey about his career and the premiere of his new symphony for band: Wine-Dark Sea. The premiere was by the University of Texas Wind Ensemble led by Jerry Junkin at the TMEA conference in Texas. Very few stations have had the chance to play this piece on the air, so this is a very special broadcast from West Virginia Public Radio.
