Election 2020: Snapshot Into District One Congressional Race — Candidates McKinley, Cline

Listen

On this West Virginia Morning, we look at the race in the 1st Congressional District of West Virginia. Republican Congressman David McKinley is up against Democrat Natalie Cline.

West Virginia had five congressional districts 50 years ago, meaning five representatives in congress. But overtime with a population decline, the state has dropped to three.

The second largest is District 1, which encompasses 20 counties in the northern part of the state that will be voting for their representation this year.

For the 2020 general election, Republican incumbent, David McKinley hopes to retain the seat he’s held for five terms against newcomer Democrat Natalie Cline. Caitlin Tan reports.
