Anniversary of 2016 Flood

Listen

Today marks one year since floods devastated many parts of West Virginia, killing 23 people and causing major damage to many communities, including homes, businesses and schools. This morning, we’ll revisit some of the people who were impacted by last year’s floods, including Keith Thompson, whose father died in the high waters.  We hear an excerpt of this week’s episode of Inside Appalachia, which looks at what has been rebuilt since last year’s floods and how communities are dealing with the long-term recovery process.
