WVDE Looking for Minecraft Repilicas of State Capitol

Is your school-aged son or daughter a master at minecraft? Then the West Virginia Department of Education has the contest for you.

The state department and Governor Tomblin’s Office are teaming up to sponsor a minecraft building competition, looking for a master builder who can recreate both the interior and exterior of West Virginia’s state Capitol or design a new Capitol complex on his or her own.

Minecraft is a video game that allows players to build their own virtual worlds.

The contest is open to students from pre-K through 12 grade, including students who attend private schools or who are homeschooled.

The registration deadline is June 20, virtually crafted Capitols are due by July 31. For more information about the competition, visit the West Virginia Department of Education’s contest page.
