Water Infrastructure And A Conversation With The Black In Appalachia Podcast On This West Virginia Morning

Listen

On this West Virginia Morning, the stories and histories of Black Appalachians are often left out or marginalized when people report on our region. There are several media projects that are trying to change that including the Black in Appalachia Podcast, which is based in Knoxville, Tennessee. Inside Appalachia spoke with three of the people who make the program.

Also, in this show, the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee learned more about the challenges of rural infrastructure in Beckley Thursday. The committee heard from state and regional administrators who work on water and wastewater projects every day.

And we listen to this week’s Mountain Stage Song of the Week brought to us by Hayes Carll, who performs a new song called “Nice Things.”
