Tracking The Black Bear Population On This West Virginia Morning

Listen

On this West Virginia Morning, every year the Pennsylvania game commission traps and tags hundreds of black bears. It’s part of the state’s ongoing census of its black bear population. This summer, the Allegheny Front’s Reid Frazier went out with a team looking for bears.

Also, in this show, northern Irish troubadour Foy Vance makes his Mountain Stage debut on this week’s encore broadcast. It was recorded at the Clay Center in Charleston in October 2016. Our song of the week is Vance’s soulful performance of “Ziggy Looked Me in the Eye.”
