Swiss Family Balli – Saturday, March 11 – 7 pm

West Virginia Public Broadcasting presents “Swiss Family Balli”, an inspiring Appalachian legacy brought to life in a television documentary by photo journalist, Brad Rice.  The Balli family was featured in a variety of publications, including National Geographic.

Christian and Mary Balli emigrated from Switzerland in 1870 and moved to the booming mill town of Pickens in Randolph County.  At the turn of the century these early West Virginia settlers built their home on what is known today as Balli Ridge in the rugged mountains of Webster County.  They tamed the wilderness and created a legendary farm that was renowned for its special brand of Swiss cheese.  They worked hard at perfecting their formula and preserving their traditions.

Viewers can relate to the hardships and triumphs of this legendary family.  As their adventures unfold, their story will become your story.  Spend a weekend with a friend or your loved ones at the beautiful Balli Ridge Farm in Webster County, West Virginia.  Tune in on Saturday, March 11 at 7 p.m. to find out how.
