The public is invited to a West Virginia Public Broadcasting Meet and Greet on Thursday, July 7, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Welton Park Shelter #1, Petersburg.  Children will get to meet Clifford the Big Red Dog, and adults may chat with NPR newsman, and West Virginia native, Giles Snyder along with other WVPB staff and board members.

Light refreshments will be served.

Clifford the Big Red Dog is the star of a beloved PBS children’s program, based on  a series of books by Norman Bridwell.  Clifford will appear at the Meet and Greet in the form of a large character costume, and will be happy to pose with children for photographs.

Giles Snyder, originally from Charleston, has been at NPR headquarters since 2004, reporting national and international news.  Before moving to NPR, Snyder worked for WVPB for 16 years as radio program director, news anchor and reporter. A graduate of Marshall University with a B.A. in broadcast journalism, he has won numerous awards in recognition of his journalistic achievements.
