Charleston-based Opus Chorale has been a given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to give the American premiere of Norwegian composer Kim Andre Arnesen’s Requiem Mass. “Arnesen is a rising star in the choral world,” said Opus Chorale director, David Donathan, “and for us, this is a major coup.”
The world of choral music is abuzz with Opus Chorale’s concert as the composer has posted this on his own website. In short, the choral world is ablaze with this news.

“Norwegian composer, Kim Andre Arnesen, has invited the Opus Chorale to give the American premiere of his new work, “Requiem,” scored for SSAATTBB choir, string orchestra, trumpet and percussion. The work was premiered in Norway in April of 2014.
The concert will take place at Christ Church United Methodist in downtown Charleston, WV on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 3:00 pm. Kim plans to be present for this premiere. Tickets for the premiere are $10/person (general seating) and will be available at the door.”
