We revisit our Anniversary show from 2018 this week with Amy Ray Band, Crash Test Dummies and more.
Singer and songwriter Amy Ray has been a member of beloved folk-duo Indigo Girls for over 30 years, and has released several albums over her own material since 2001. She brings her band and songs from her latest release, Holler, to this week’s broadcast of Mountain Stage, including our Song of the Week, “Sure Feels Good Anyway.”
Also joining in the celebration are alt-rock darlings Crash Test Dummies, who reunited for the 25th anniversary of their landmark album “God Shuffled His Feet.” You’ll also hear Oklahoma roots-rocker Parker Millsap with a gripping solo performance, plus songwriter and recent-Broadway playwright Anais Mitchell and West Virginia’s own power pop journeyman William Matheny.
This week the U.S. Department of Education is launching a multimillion-dollar program to help boost the completion of FAFSA nationwide. We’ll also learn more about the state’s largest methamphetamine seizure in history. And we’ll hear about a rupture in the Mountain Valley Pipeline during a pressure test.
On this West Virginia Morning, Curtis Tate tells us about problems with the Mountain Valley Pipeline as it nears completion, Emily Rice discusses children’s mental health with state expert and Mountain Stage brings us the Song of the Week with Watchouse performing “The Wolves.”
On this week's broadcast of Mountain Stage, we revisit an episode from 2019 featuring Gregory Alan Isakov, Elysian Fields, Mandolin Orange, The Brother Brothers and Hush Kids. Recorded in Morgantown, West Virginia at the WVU Canady Creative Arts Center with host Larry Groce.
On this week's broadcast of Mountain Stage, we dig into our archives to revisit performances from 2018 by M. Ward, Joachim Cooder, Laura Veirs, The Sea The Sea and Dead Horses.
