Free Screening of NOVA’s ‘ADDICTION’ Special Tonight in Charleston

Listen

On this West Virginia Morning, the University of Charleston and West Virginia Public Broadcasting are sponsoring a free screening of an upcoming PBS NOVA special entitled ADDICTION. The NOVA filmmakers spent months in West Virginia, capturing our struggle with the opioid epidemic, as part of the program.

Executive Producer Suzanne Higgins spoke with NOVA producer Sarah Holt about the film’s focus on the science of addiction, and effective treatment for substance use disorder.

Sarah Holt and other NOVA filmmakers will join a panel discussion following the free screening of their program, ADDICTION.

The event will be held Thurs. Oct. 11 at the University of Charleston starting at 7 p.m., in Geary Auditorium. The program will air on West Virginia Public Broadcasting Wednesday, Oct. 17.
