Deadline for Federal Flood Aid Today

The deadline is approaching for West Virginia residents affected by flooding in June to apply for federal assistance.

Wednesday is the deadline to apply for disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Administration and to submit applications for U.S. Small Business Administration loans.

FEMA says about 8,800 households have applied to FEMA for help since President Barack Obama issued a disaster declaration for residents of Clay, Fayette, Greenbrier, Jackson, Kanawha, Lincoln, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Roane, Summers and Webster counties.

The June floods killed 23 people and destroyed homes, businesses and infrastructure.
