The SteelDrivers Rescheduling Tonight's Mountain Stage Appearance. Peter Mulvey Added to the Line-up

The SteelDrivers are unable to appear at tonight’s Mountain Stage event in Charleston, W.Va. as scheduled. We will work to reschedule them as soon as possible. The band sent us this message:

We were looking forward to seeing all of you at Mountain Stage Sunday night, one of our faves, but unfortunately at our show last night Richard had a little mishap with the stage carpet and broke his right wrist.  Not good for anyone, but especially our badass banjo picker.  We will see you soon.  Please look for an update soon on our rescheduled date and thank you for all your support.  –              The SteelDrivers

Peter Mulvey will appear with us in Charleston Sunday Feb. 16.

We still have a wonderful line-up of music planned, with Peter Mulvey just added to the line-up alongside award winning bluegrass group Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, Dom Flemons, Christopher Paul Stelling and The Small Glories.  We hope you can join us at the Culture Center Theater. Doors open at 6:30p.m. and the show starts at 7p.m.

Contact Eventbrite within seven days to inquire about a refund, 855.326.9945, or please reach out to live@mountainstage.org with the name used to purchase tickets, or if the tickets were purchased at Taylor Books. We will respond as soon as possible. Please allow some time for requests to be processed and approved before the refunds can be issued. Anyone who purchased through Eventbrite will be notified of the rescheduled date when one becomes available. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and wish the best to Richard and all The SteelDrivers.

Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out are the most awarded band in bluegrass music according to the IBMAs. The band joins us Sunday Feb. 16 in Charleston at the Culture Center Theater for Mountain Stage.

Hot Club of Cowtown appear on Mountain Stage Sunday Jan. 19 in Morgantown, WV

Since 1998, the Western swing-gypsy jazz trio Hot Club of Cowtown has traveled the world bringing their own brand of magical musical chemistry to audiences far and wide. The veteran trio are equal partners in this original marriage of gypsy-jazz-inspired by the music of Django Reinhardt — which accounts for the “Hot Club” portion of their name — with the hoedowns, traditional tunes, and Western swing-inspired music of Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, represented in the “Cowtown” of their name.

Stay tuned for more artist additions to the January 19 line-up.

The SteelDrivers are back on Mountain Stage Sunday, February 16 at the Culture Center Theater.

It’ll be a bluegrass lovers’ night on Sunday, February 16 as we welcome back the newest configuration of The SteelDrivers. Handling lead vocals with the group these days is selecting Kentucky native Kelvin Damrell, who joins the band’s long-standing core members- songwriter and fiddler Tammy Rogers, bass player Mike Fleming, banjo player Richard Bailey and multi-instrumentalist Brent Truitt. The Grammy-winning band lead The Philadelphia Inquirer to declare “You can call it power-bluegrass or country soul, but whatever you call it, Nashville’s SteelDrivers have bushels of it.”

Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out

Also on the bill Sunday, February 16 is Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out. In September, Moore became the International Bluegrass Music Associations most awarded male vocalist of all time when he won his sixth trophy for “Male Vocalist of the Year.” The group’s vocal prowess has built them a reputation as one of the finest bands in the land, and we can’t wait to have them on Mountain Stage in February.

Christopher Paul Stelling, a deft guitarist and golden-voiced singer, will be there February 16 to showcase songs from his upcoming Ben Harper-produced album, Best of Luck, due February 7 on ANTI- records. “It’s not Americana or alt anything, it’s really just soulful folk music,” Harper says of Best of Luck.
