Presidential Hopefuls to Skip Governors Meeting in State

The four Republican governors eyeing the presidency in 2016 won’t be on hand for a national governors meeting next week in West Virginia.

Scott Walker in Wisconsin, John Kasich in Ohio, Bobby Jindal in Louisiana and Chris Christie in New Jersey won’t attend the National Governors Association summer meeting.

Kasich is the only one in the group who hasn’t officially entered the race yet.

Spokespeople for the governors and their campaigns confirmed the officials wouldn’t be at the event.

The meeting will take place July 23-25 at The Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs. The association holds meetings in the winter and summer.
