PowerFlo Solutions, a high-tech manufacturing firm, announced Wednesday it will invest $20 million to establish a new facility in the Wood County town of Williamstown, West Virginia.

“What we’re trying to do is just keep jobs here, so we don’t have to leave the area to go to work and support a family,” West Virginia native and company head Jim Vuksic said.

The company said it will take over the old Hino plant, a 240,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Williamstown, in the north-western part of the state.

Headquartered in Marietta, Ohio, PowerFlo Solutions manufacturers power distribution units, switches and remote power panels – high tech equipment that powers data centers and other advanced technologies.

“They’re going to be working on the critical electrical infrastructure that powers data centers, artificial intelligence, and other advanced technologies that are transforming the global economy,” said Gov. Patrick Morrisey. “As data centers are getting built, you also want to have that strength of the components, the parts that are used for those data centers. This is a good example of that, and that’s why we’re really excited about it.”

Company officials estimate the acquisition will create between 120 and 200 jobs.
