The West Virginia Lottery says on its website that a ticket sold at a convenience store in Shinnston matched the first five numbers in Saturday’s drawing. The winner had not claimed the ticket as of Monday.

The numbers drawn were 22, 23, 24, 45 and 62. The Powerball was 5.

Because there was no jackpot winner from Saturday, the jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing climbed to $130 million.

W.Va. Husband, Wife Claim $2M Powerball Winnings

A Princeton husband and wife have won a $2 million prize in a Powerball drawing.

Martha and Tom Robinson claimed their winnings Tuesday at a news conference at West Virginia Lottery headquarters in Charleston.

Their ticket matched five numbers and missing the Powerball from last Wednesday’s drawing. They used the Power Play option on the ticket that doubled their winnings.

In a statement released by the Lottery, the couple plan to pay off bills, help their two adult children and potentially look for a new house.

Martha Robinson works two jobs as a high school cook and at a local hospital. Her husband is a truck driver.

$1M Powerball Ticket Sold in Northern W.Va.

A Powerball ticket worth $1 million has been sold in northern West Virginia.

The ticket that matched the first five numbers in Saturday’s drawing was sold at a Circle K in Worthington near the Harrison-Marion county line.

The numbers were 11, 17, 21, 23, 32. The Powerball was 5.

Two other $1 million Powerball tickets have been sold in West Virginia since late June. An Elkview couple claimed the prize from the June 25 drawing and a Fairmont man won $1 million in the July 6 drawing.

Ohio Man Claims $1M Powerball Prize in West Virginia

An Ohio man has won a $1 million prize in West Virginia in the latest Powerball drawing.

Lottery officials said that Steven Wilson of East Liverpool, Ohio, bought his winning ticket for Wednesday’s drawing at a service station in Chester.

Wilson matched the first five numbers and missed the Powerball. He says he and his wife normally play the Ohio Lottery but took a chance on buying Powerball tickets in West Virginia.

Wilson says he plans to use the winnings to pay off student loans, provide for his mother and purchase a new home.

Three tickets sold in California, Florida and Tennessee matched all six numbers and will split the record $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot.

Lottery Officials: 5 Tickets Worth $50K Sold in State

The most recent Powerball drawing produced five $50,000 winners in West Virginia.

State lottery officials say those tickets were sold in Wheeling, St. Albans, Spencer, Kenova and Wellsburg. Nearly 104,000 tickets sold in West Virginia won a prize of some sort in Saturday’s drawing.

Nobody won the $868 million jackpot, which is expected to grow to $1.4 billion for Wednesday night’s drawing. Three tickets won $2 million and 25 tickets won $1 million, but none of those were in West Virginia.

Sales in West Virginias have been brisk. Lottery officials say that during peak sales periods, West Virginia is seeing more than 10 Powerball transactions per second statewide.

Three Powerball Tickets in W.Va. Win Match-5 Prizes

The West Virginia Lottery says it’s the first time that the state has produced three match-5 winners in the same drawing.

Two tickets purchased for Saturday’s drawing won $1 million. The third ticket won $2 million because the player paid an extra $1 for the Powerplay option.

All three tickets matched five numbers but missed the Powerball. The winning numbers were 5-15-16-46-49 and the Powerball was 26.

Both of the $1 million winners will claim their prizes Monday afternoon at the Lottery’s headquarters in Charleston.

Since January, 10 tickets sold in West Virginia for Powerball and Mega Millions have won prizes of $1 million or more.
