Delegate Larry Williams is leaving the West Virginia Legislature to take a job with the state Department of Agriculture.
The Dominion Post reports the Preston County Democrat announced the move Friday. He plans to file his resignation in Charleston next week.
The 71-year-old Williams says he looks forward to a new opportunity to serve his county and the state. He’ll promote agribusiness in multiple-county region and also serve as a liaison to the state’s deer farmers.
Williams was appointed to the Legislature in 1993, was elected in 1994 and re-elected every two years since.
