Listen: The Wood Brothers on Mountain Stage

We revisit The Wood Brothers’ third appearance on Mountain Stage as part of this week’s encore episode. The trio’s high-energy set includes songs from their exceptional album “One Drop of Truth,” released in February 2018.

They also perform “Chocolate On My Tongue,” a favorite from their 2006 debut album “Ways Not To Lose,” which is our Mountain Stage Song of the Week.

“Over the years we’ve written a lot of dessert songs,” front-man Oliver Wood said while introducing the song, “Wish we could do them all, but inspired by the brownies down in catering, we chose this one.”

Live Show News: The Wood Brothers, Todd Snider added to June 24.

On Sunday June 24 Mountain Stage will once again be a part of FestivALL Charleston, the city-wide celebration of the arts in our hometown of Charleston, WV. Iconic songwriters Dave Alvin & Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Vermont’s emerging soul-music star Kat Wright, have already been announced. Today we’re adding the next round of artists, and our next guest-host.

The Wood Brothers, who released “One Drop of Truth” in February, will return for their third appearance on Mountain Stage on June 24. Also, just announced, our favorite bare-foot and folk-singing hippie, author and jam band singer Todd Snider will return to Mountain Stage as well. By our best estimate, this will make Todd’s 15th appearance on the show since 1995.

Peter Mulvey will guest-host Mountain Stage on Sunday, June 24 during FestivALL Charleston.

We’re excited to announce that singer, songwriter and guitarist Peter Mulvey will be stepping up to the microphone as our special guest-host.
