Flags At Half-Staff In Honor Of David McKinley

Former Congressman David McKinley from Wheeling has died. He was 79 years old.

Flags at state facilities across West Virginia will remain at half-staff until sunset on Monday, April 27 in honor of former Congressman David McKinley who died last Friday

McKinley represented the 3rd District of the West Virginia House of Delegates for 14 years and later served as chairman of the state Republican Party.  

He was elected to the state’s 1st Congressional District in 2010 – becoming the first Republican to represent that region in more than 40 years.   

McKinley was a native of Wheeling and a civil engineer who founded McKinley Architecture and Engineering in 1981. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, their four children and six grandchildren. 

David McKinley was 79.
