A new joint venture company that will supply tools to the mining industry is coming to West Virginia. Global engineering group Sandvik has entered into a partnership with Alpha Metallurgical Resources to establish a manufacturing presence in West Virginia, according to an announcement from Gov. Patrick Morrisey.

The companies are making a $25 million investment that is expected to create at least 120 new jobs.

The 100,000-square-foot facility will be primarily focused on rock bolt and resin capsule manufacturing but may expand in the future. The joint venture will also sell ground support products to other customers in the U.S. market.

The Sandvik Group is a leading supplier of equipment and tools for the mining and construction industries. Application areas include rock drilling, rock cutting, loading and hauling, tunneling, ground support and quarrying.
